Katherine Parkinson (The IT Crowd, Humans) reprises her acclaimed role as Judy, in Laura Wade’s fizzing comedy about one woman’s quest to be the perfect 1950’s housewife.

How happily married are the happily married? Every couple needs a little fantasy to keep their marriage sparkling. But behind the gingham curtains, things start to unravel, and being a domestic goddess is not as easy as it seems.

"Hi Honey, I'm Home!" In Laura Wade's Home I'm Darling, the sun is shining, rockabilly music is playing, and the household is a hive of activity – preparations for the day ahead are very much in swing. As Johnny descends the stairs, his breakfast is on the kitchen table, his wife Judy (Katherine Parkinson) is there ready to welcome him with a cheery smile and a good morning kiss. The picture of 1950s suburbia couldn’t be stronger as he collects his lunch and briefcase and leaves for his day at work.

It has recently been announced that the National Theatre and Theatr Clwyd production of Laura Wade’s Home, I’m Darling will be transferring to the West End’s Duke of York’s Theatre come January.
