The winners of The Stage Debut Awards were announced last night (27 September) in a virtual ceremony filmed at the West End’s Theatre Royal Haymarket. The Award ceremony in association with Access Entertainment was hosted by & Juliet star Miriam-Teak Lee. Sam Tutty is amongst the winners, scooping two awards for his performance in Dear Evan Hansen. Hollywood movie star Julianne Moore (The Big Lebowski, Hannibal) has been cast to portray Heidi Hansen in the upcoming musical film adaptation of Dear Evan Hansen, it has been announced. The multi-award-winning actress is set to join the eight-member principal cast, including Ben Platt who has been confirmed to reprise his role as Evan Hansen for the big screen.

The hit musical was originally scheduled to extend its West End run at the Noel Coward Theatre until 27 June 2020 before the coronavirus pandemic struck. A 2021 return date to the London stage has yet to be confirmed or announced.

The shortlist of nominees has been released for this year's Stage Debut Awards with Dear Evan Hansen earning four nominations in total. The lucky winners will be announced in a special ceremony to be held on 27 September.
